D) Stand on Zanzibar is about the evils and stupidity of the State. In my opinion they don't make Science Fiction like this anymore. Thanks to Steven Forth for pushing me to find this book. €�Stand on Zanzibar” is old science fiction, I hope it's pretty entertaining. It is about how a corporation may be able to do a good thing, despite itself. Written in '68 about the 2010 time frame and what a wonderful read this has been! In 1968, John Brunner published Stand on Zanzibar, a sprawling attempt to predict life in a desperately overcrowded year 2010. Well, “Night of the Living Trekkies” promises to be pretty lightweight, I think. Into this potent mix, Brunner throws two major conflicts. In fact the action starts on May 3rd: For toDAY third of MAY twenty-TEN ManhatTEN reports mild spring-type weather under the Fuller Dome. C) Stand on Zanzibar is about the evils and cupidity of corporatization.
